Ages

Players aged 9 to 18 year old

Example: Appropriate players at least 9 years old who have completed at least one year of Learn-to-Play.

When

What time of the year does this program run? September to May

Example: Season begins with tryouts in August and runs until playoffs and final tournaments in May.

Where

Where are practices and games typically held? Toronto area schools and facilities

Example: Each team will have a facility were practices will be held. Games will bedepending on the leagues will be updated at least a week prior for each Obl session

Practices

When are practices and how often are they?

Example: Teams practice 2-3 times per week.

Games

How many games will they play? What days of the week?

Example: Teams will play 20-30 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.

Jerseys

Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?

Example: The uniform package, included in the price for the season, will consist of a home jersey, away jersey, shorts, shooting shirt, bag, and tracksuit.

Extra Costs

What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?

Example: The league fee includes the cost of participating in the regular season schedule, as well as two tournaments. Any additional training sessions or tournaments will incur an extra charge.

Season Overview


The Next Man Up Basketball season runs from September to May, offering athletes a full competitive and developmental experience. Each team will compete in two of three elite leagues:

Coalition Basketball League

Ontario Basketball League (OBL)

North Pole Hoops Showcase League


This structure ensures that players face strong competition, gain exposure, and have opportunities to showcase their skills at a high level.

Teams will practice twice per week, focusing on skill development, conditioning, and team execution, while preparing for weekend league games and showcase sessions. Our program emphasizes both individual growth and team success, creating an environment where athletes can compete, improve, and embrace the Next Man Up mentality.
